New Zealand became a part of me

I can't belive that almost one year passed since I left Germany to live here in New Zealand for one year and now I'm almost leaving again! The time goes by so fast and you don't even realize it !

My hostfamily is amazing! They are so nice and I quickly became a part of the family! They take me to lots of different places and in September they are going to travel to Europe to visit me.

nz-julia_p_1During this year I changed so much. I became more confident and open-minded which is great! I tried lots of new things like sky diving and surfing which I wouldn't have done in Germany. When I first came I wouldn't have thought that it would be so hard to leave after only one year. It is so sad that I don't know when I will see all my friends again! In my school at Havelock North are many international students and we have lots of activities during the holidays and the school time. We went surfing and kayaking at Waimarama, we went skiing on Mt. Ruhapehu, we played paintball and did lots of other things. We also had to try Kapa Haka which was a bit scary for the first time .

The people here are sooo nice and the countryside is just amazing but one thing I can't get used to is Christmas in summer! It didn't feel like Chistmas at all! No snow and no Christmas feeling. We spent Christmas at the beach instead and it was so hot. It was a great experience but I missed the snow!

In two months I will be back in Germany but I will come back as soon as I can! New Zealand became a part of me. My second home! I became more confident, more open-minded and more independent! This year changed me and I am glad that I chose to come here!

Thank you so much for giving me this opportunity!
Julia

Robert stays in the "Best country in the world"

Dear Intrax-Team,
I've now been in New Zealand for two weeks and I'm enjoying staying here in the best country of the world very much!

nz_robert_1I'm in a very lovely host family and I feel part of it. I've a Saudi-Arabic host brother and I get on really well with him. I'm living in Hamilton and so I go to Fraser High School. It's a great school and we have many opportunities in what we can do in our free time. It's a big school with 1800 students and it's quite different from the schools in Germany. We can choose between so many subjects. So I'm trying out some, which I don't have the opportunity in Germany. I've chosen for example Environmental Improvement, Photography, Music (which is quite different from Music in Germany), Geography, PE and ESOL. I'm trying to go surfing and doing canoe polo with the school.

I've been on some nice trips to beautiful beaches with my host family. They also visited Rotorua with me. I'm really happy to have the opportunity to stay with such a nice family. Thank you for that!nz_robert_2

I'm really enjoying my time here in New Zealand!

Many greetings
Yours Robert
